Small but Mighty Updates to our Whole Food Multivitamin

We’re excited to announce a few small but mighty updates to our beloved Abundant Earth Whole Food Multivitamins! These changes are designed to better serve you, our incredible customers, without altering the results you've come to rely upon for energy, mood, and digestive support. Rest assured, the core benefits of our formula remain the same. Here's a breakdown of what's new:

1. Iodine-Free Multivitamin Formula: Safe for Those with Hypothyroidism or Hashimoto’s Disease

One of the most significant updates is the removal of iodine from our formula. This change makes our multivitamin safe for those with hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s disease, a condition that is the leading cause of thyroid underactivity in the U.S.

Excessive iodine can worsen Hashimoto’s by accelerating thyroid cell destruction, so we’re happy to offer an iodine-free multivitamin formula that supports those with thyroid concerns.

Iodine is a crucial mineral, but maintaining the right balance is key. While less than 50 mcg daily can impair thyroid function, most people easily exceed this amount through their diet. The challenge, however, is that too much iodine—above 300 mcg—can seriously stress the thyroid.

Most people with Hashimoto’s are not iodine deficient, and many already get plenty of iodine from their diet or from their medication. Taking any additional iodine can put them at the limit of safety.

For most people, especially those with thyroid issues, it’s best to avoid extra iodine in supplements. Overloading on iodine can slow the thyroid and negatively impact metabolism.

In fact, research has shown that 78% of people with hypothyroidism due to Hashimoto’s disease saw improvement simply by reducing their iodine intake.*

We’ve received requests from customers asking for an iodine-free multivitamin, and we’re thrilled to now be one of the few options available!

2. Enhanced Vitamin D3: A More Sustainable, Vegan-Friendly Source

We’ve switched our vegan Vitamin D3 source from Lichen to Algae. This update makes our Vitamin D3 more sustainable and bioavailable, with a chemical structure nearly identical to animal-based sources. It’s also perfectly suitable for vegans, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the immune-boosting and mood-supporting benefits of this vital nutrient.

3. Updated Vitamin B9, B6, and B1: Optimized for MTHFR Gene Mutation

While we’ve always been proud of the quality and effectiveness of our Vitamin B complex, we’ve updated several of our B vitamins so their methylated forms are optimal for ensuring full absorption, especially for the nearly 40% of the population that carries the MTHFR gene mutation. Here’s what’s changed:

  • Vitamin B9 (Folate): From L-Methylfolate to Calcium L-5-MTHF
  • Vitamin B6: From Pyridoxine HCL to P-5-P (Pyridoxine 5’-Phosphate)
  • Vitamin B1: From Thiamine HCL to Thiamine Mononitrate

Why is this important? The MTHFR mutation can disrupt the absorption of essential B vitamins, like folate, which are critical for energy, mood regulation, and overall well-being. Without proper absorption, high homocysteine levels can develop in the blood, which is linked to an increased risk of heart disease, stroke, and cognitive decline. By ensuring all our B vitamins are in their optimal forms, we’re supporting the health of everyone—including those with MTHFR variants.

4. Boron: A Smarter Choice

We’ve upgraded our boron source from sodium borate to boron glycinate. This form is gentler and more bioavailable, supporting stronger bones, improved cognition, and better hormone balance.

5. Removed DNA (No, We Weren’t Using Biological DNA!)

We’ve removed DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) from our formula. While the dosage wasn’t significant, it caused some confusion (and some very funny questions and comments on our ads) among customers who were concerned that we were using biological DNA in our natural multivitamins. Rest assured, that was never the case! Removing it simplifies our formula and ensures peace of mind for our customers.

6. Organic Whole Food Greens Blend: Supercharged

We’ve taken this opportunity to increase the amounts of some of the most potent greens in our formula, including Spirulina, Broccoli, and Kale. To make room for these, we’ve removed cabbage, dulse, and sea kelp. This also helps us avoid sourcing delays caused by the sea kelp. The result? A more efficient greens blend that continues to provide robust health benefits.

7. Organic Whole Food Fruit Blend: Increased Potency

We haven’t changed any of the ingredients in our fruit blend, but we’ve increased the strength of key berries. As a result, these berries are now listed first on the Supplement Facts panel, per FDA requirements. You’ll still enjoy the same great benefits, just with a little extra berry power.

The Bottom Line: Same Great Multivitamin, Now Even Better

Our team is committed to providing you with the best possible supplements, and these updates are a reflection of that commitment. We’ve made these changes to enhance the overall formula without altering the benefits you love. Whether you’re focused on energy, immunity, digestion, mood, or overall wellness, our Abundant Earth Whole Food Multivitamin remains a powerhouse of natural health support.
